iSmart Shankar Movie Review:

Ismart Shankar offers high-voltage, mass masala entertainment that primarily caters to the masses. The standout element of the film is Ram’s exceptional transformation into the character of Ismart Shankar. With his impressive dialogue delivery, energetic dance sequences, and captivating screen presence, Ram delivers a noteworthy performance that is both lovable and entertaining.

Nabha Natesh shines as Chandni, providing superb eye candy for the audience. Her chemistry with Ram is palpable, and despite limited screen time, she delivers a commendable performance. Nidhhi Agarwal also impresses in her role and contributes her best to the film. Supporting actors such as Ashish Vidhyarthi and Satyadev deliver notable performances as well.

The film encompasses all the essential elements of a commercial entertainer, including catchy dialogues, foot-tapping songs, and a glamorous quotient. Puri Jagannadh skillfully incorporates these factors, making the film engaging for the audience. Ram’s comedic timing and action sequences add a good dose of entertainment. The first half of the film is decent, and the interval twist of the memory transfer is executed effectively.

However, one of the major drawbacks of Ismart Shankar lies in its familiar storyline, which follows the typical Puri Jagannadh style of a cop drama. Although the memory transfer concept adds a unique twist, it is not fully utilized, leaving room for missed opportunities. Additionally, certain scenes in the second half lack logical coherence, and Ram’s character becomes confusing during this phase. The plot surrounding family politics feels cliché and fails to create a significant impact.

The screenplay suffers in the second half, resulting in a slowdown of the film’s pacing. The climax is predictable and lacks novelty. Ismart Shankar heavily relies on Ram’s screen presence, and without it, the film lacks innovation. The inclusion of double-meaning dialogues and excessive violence may make some scenes uncomfortable for family audiences.

The music by Mani Sharma stands out as a major asset, with all the songs delivering entertaining moments and being visually appealing. Ram’s styling in the film is praiseworthy, and the editing is decent. Puri Jagan’s strength lies in his characterization of heroes, and he succeeds in showcasing Ram in a superb manner. However, better handling of the memory transfer concept could have elevated the film further.
