Boys Hostel Movie Review

Boys Hostel, the Telugu dubbed version of the original Kannada film “Hostel Hudugaru Bekagiddare”, delivers an engaging and straightforward storyline that manages to captivate the audience. The first half is particularly compelling, drawing viewers into the narrative with its engaging storytelling.

The movie’s crux revolves around the character of the warden, portrayed brilliantly by Manjunath Nayaka. The supporting cast, including Prajwal BP, Srivasta Shyam, Diganath Manchale, and Gagan Ram, effectively contribute to the film’s comedic yet dark narrative.

The collaborative efforts of the students central to the plot create a delightful and hilarious dynamic that keeps the audience entertained.

A well-executed cameo by Tharun Bhascker brings in genuine laughter, thanks to his witty dialogue delivery and expressive acting. Nithin Krishnamurthy’s portrayal of Genie, an essential character, is also praiseworthy.

Apart from the performances, the movie benefits from its energetic score, dynamic screenplay, and skillful cinematography, all of which contribute to an immersive viewing experience. The film cleverly incorporates trending one-liners and iconic dialogues, enhancing its contemporary appeal.

While the movie maintains a brisk pace in the first half, things change after a pivotal twist is unveiled. The director faces a challenge in maintaining the momentum in the latter half. Although attempts are made to keep the audience engaged, the film’s impact could have been enhanced with a more intricate second-half narrative and additional twists.

With a multitude of characters, some unfamiliar to Telugu audiences, post-movie recall might prove challenging.

Certain segments in the latter half might feel a bit slow as anticipation builds toward the climax, leading to sporadic moments of monotony.

Rashmi’s character, although linked to Tharun Bhascker’s perspective, plays a minimal role in the overall narrative of the film.
